To maintain environmental and ecological balance it is necessary to keep 33% of land under trees. But only 6% of land surface of Punjab is covered by trees. Therefore adverse environmental changes are taking place in Punjab. A team of Agriculture and Environment Center visited the fields of a farmers’ family in village Bhattike (Tehsil Baba Bakala, Amritsar) who have planted trees in a portion of their land to spare that land for nature.
