East Punjab has 3.67% of its’ area under forest. Most of the forest is concentrated in northern parts of the state which fall close to Shavlik range of hills. Rest of Punjab has negligible tree cover. Agriculture and Environment Awareness Center is spreading awareness requesting people of Punjab to plant more trees . AEAC requests farmers to return some portion of their land to nature and plant saplings to create small forest covers. S. Mandeep Singh of Johal village (near Adampur) in Jalandhar district contacted Agriculture and Environment Center for planting a small forest on his land located at Shampur village. He spared 1 Kanal of land for this small forest. Sewadars of Karsewa Khadoor Sahib, led by Baba Davinder Singh, planted 300 saplings for 170th Guru Nanak Memorial Forest on 4 July 2022. AEAC team members, S. Sukhdev Singh and S. Harinderpreet Singh, were also present when the saplings were planted in the fields of S. Karamjit Singh.
