Industrial discharge, dairy waste and municipality sewerage of Ludhiana are dangerously pollutes waters of Satluj river. This pollution is causing environment hazard, ecological destruction and chronic diseases in humans and other living beings. Concerned citizens of Ludhiana have raised voice against Satluj pollution from time to time. A team of Agriculture and Environment Center met Amandeep Singh Bains during Jal Chetna Yatra. Amandeep Singh is part of a groups of people who have been raising voice against water pollution through Buddha Nullah, Bhatiyan drain and Kala Sanghian drain. He is also part of team that has approached India’s National Green Tribunal (NGT) against allotting land for construction and industry in the flood plains of Satluj river near Mattewara forest.
